The Huawei Ascend D1 and the Huawei Ascend P1 are two recent additions to the Huawei Ascend series.
The P1 variant was released in May 2012 whereas the D1 variant was released in July 2012. Both of them are luxuriant smart phones which lie in a very high price range. Price-wise, the Ascend D1 is more expensive than its counterpart P1. You will find features comparison of these two smartphones in this article.
Although both of these cell phones have the typical-looking candy bar shape, there is a slight difference between their external designs. The Ascent P1 looks sharper around the corners and it is perfectly angular. The Ascend D1 unlike P1 has slightly curved edges which make this handset easier to hold with a better grip and you would not have any complaint to hold it naturally.
The size of both of these cell phones is almost the same but the size of their touch screens varies slightly. The D1 has a bigger 4.5 inches touch screen, while the opponent P1 fits a 4.3 inches touch screen. This is, however, not a big difference.
On the other hand, by comparing both touch screens, we find considerable differences due to the different technologies used. The D1 smartphone has an IPS LCD capacitive touch screen however over the other hand P1 has a Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen. Although both of touch-screens look stunning to eyes, the Super AMOLED touch screen has a better visibility in sunlight.
This is the same technology which has made the Samsung Galaxy series so popular among the users. So, when you take your Huawei Ascend P1 outdoors in a sunny day, you will not have any regrets among your friends. But other than that, the IPS LCD capacitive screen of the D1 variant is never devastating.
It creates a good user experience as well.
The pixel density and resolution of both handsets has some of differences as well. The Ascend D1 has a sharper and clearer display with a pixel density of 326 ppi. On the other hand, its counterpart has a pixel density of 256 ppi.
But we have to say it again that this is not a huge difference for an average user. With a display of 16 M colors, both of these smartphones present an impressive color display for playing videos as well as for internet browsing.
When we compare the memory storage of both of these Huawei Ascend variants, the Huawei Ascend D1 stands out as a clear and most obvious winner.
This more expensive smart phone has an internal phone memory of 8 GB. On the other hand, the P1 smart phone has an internal memory of only 1 GB. A memory card slot is available in both of these smart phones for adding extra memory storage capacity of up to 32 GB for all your data, including photos, videos as well as music files.
